Pastor Training
In 2021, the Kigali Anglican Theological College became East African Christian College. The theological college still exists to train pastors for the work of ministry. Though Anglican in its theological commitments and ethos, the admissions process is open to all professing Christians who are called to full-time gospel ministry.
Evangelism and Discipleship
Local Church
In 2011, Gasabo diocese was formed out of the existing Kigali diocese. This was done in order to keep the Archbishop as a diocesan bishop, but with a smaller diocese. Over the years, the ministry needs of Gasabo have grown, but is in need of partners to help provide foundations for
ministry.
Very few churches in Gasabo diocese have a building. Either they cannot afford one or the building they have is not up to governmental code. As such, the need for structures is great, not only as a gathering place for corporate worship, but for ministries in the community.
There is also a great need to provide stipends for pastors. The economy of most villages cannot support a full-time pastor with a family. Your gift would free up the need of a pastor to take on extra work in order to provide for his family.
Early Childhood Development
Transforming Villages
Early Learning Centers (ELC) are being established to educate and evangelize children in local villages. Where education is not a guaranteed right in Rwanda, these centers give children an advantage educationally. Moreover, it is a chance to tell these little ones about Jesus, as well as
minister to their mothers.
Nutrition Program
At each ELC, a nutrition program is provided where children receive nutrition that they might otherwise go without. Working with local farmers, CALM supports the One Egg a Day project that provides each child a hardboiled egg.
Vocational Training
EACC
Rwanda is underserved by medical professionals. Most Rwandans have to travel outside of where they live for medical attention, many have to make their way to Kigali, the capital. Due to this lack of access, preventable deaths and infant mortality continue to be a problem in Rwanda. Twenty four out of every thousand babies die because of a lack of healthcare access. (This number is nearly five times the infant morality rate in the United States.)
In response to this need, East African Christian College has inaugurated a nursing and midwifery program. Nurses in Rwanda are often the only source of medical help, and most villages
do not have access to a nurse. EACC aims to put faithful Christian nurses throughout Rwanda to minister to those in need, body and soul.
In addition, CALM is seeking to establish health centers in underserved communities.
